Data Analyst

Job Purpose/ KEY OBJECTIVES OF THE JOB

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced FP&A team member to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will drive financial planning, forecasting, and analysis to support the companys strategic goals. This role involves analyzing business data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights that enhance business processes and optimize operational performance. With a strong understanding of financial operations, the FP&A team member will collaborate across departments to deliver data-driven recommendations. The role also includes supporting business operations, marketing strategies, customer analytics, and strategic decision-making through detailed data analysis, reporting, and visualization.

Key Accountabilities

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Develop and manage the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
• Provide accurate and timely financial forecasts to support decision-making and strategic planning.

Financial Analysis and Reporting:

• Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow analysis.
• Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, highlighting key insights and recommendations.

Strategic Planning:

• Collaborate with senior management to develop long-term financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Engage in scenario planning to assess potential risks and opportunities.
• Data Management and Analytics:
• Establish and maintain a centralized data management system, including a comprehensive data dictionary and catalog.
• Leverage data science and machine learning for predictive modeling and advanced decision-making where feasible.

KPI Monitoring and Reporting:

• Establish, track, and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess progress toward financial and operational goals.
• Support targeted and strategy-aligned reporting initiatives to enhance decision-making.

Cross-Department Collaboration:

• Partner with various departments, including marketing, IT, and customer service, to align financial planning initiatives with overall organizational strategy.
• Provide advanced insights and enhanced support for the Sales team, including leveraging Salesforce analytics.

Process Improvement and Efficiency:

• Review and enhance reporting processes in collaboration with other teams to reduce manual reporting time and increase automation.
• Work with various teams to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency.
• Data Literacy and Training:
• Assess team needs and provide tailored workshops to improve understanding and application of analytics.
• Support editorial teams with data-driven insights on relevant KPIs.
• Customer and Marketing Analytics:
• Take over customer-related analytics from the Customer Service team, providing advanced insights and support for the Sales team.
• Collaborate with marketing teams to analyze campaign performance and audience engagement for optimized strategies.
• Governance and Compliance:
• Define clear ownership and accountability for data with operations.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

• Qualifications: CA/ ICWA, MBA in Finance/ masters degree in computer science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in FP&A, data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field.
• Industry Knowledge: Experience in analysing business operations, marketing strategies, and customer behaviour data.
• Problem Solving: Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
• Communication Skills: Ability to present data findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Technical Skills

• Data Analysis Tools: Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Tableau/Power BI, VBA and other data visualization tools.
• Programming Languages: Experience with Python and R for data analysis and automation tasks.
• Data Management: Expertise in data cleaning, database querying, and data manipulation.
• Statistical Analysis: Understanding of statistical methods and their application in business analytics
