Network and System Engineer (Muscat, Oman)

We are seeking a skilled System and Network Administrator to join our company. The candidate should have the knowledge for configuring, managing, and troubleshooting both Windows and Linux systems, network infrastructure, backup systems, and security protocols.

The role includes managing DHCP, Static IPs, NAT, IPSec, firewall configurations, subnetting, network topologies, VLANs, WLAN, routing, and ensuring network availability and security. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with both server management and networking, ensuring the smooth operation of both systems and network environments.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Good experience with Windows Server (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, File/Print Services) and Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu, RHEL, etc.) server administration.
• Experience on Cloud deployment and Cloud management is an added advantage
• Familiarity with system management tools like PowerShell, Bash scripting, Ansible, or similar automation tools.
• Good Knowledge of Network Switch configuration, VLANs, subnetting, NAT, IPSec VPNs, firewall configuration, Network Topologies
• Knowledge of the following network protocols and technologies: TCP/IP and OSI model, IP Address and Subnetting, ARP, DHCP, DNS, POE (IEEE 802.3af/at/bt), ICMP, IPv4 IPv6, and IEEE 802.1Q trunking, Wireless LAN Fundamentals, VPN, NAT/PAT, etc.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting utilities such as Ping, Traceroute, Wireshark (or similar packet capture and analysis tools) is highly desired.
• Hands-on experience with Wi-Fi configuration, VLAN and WLAN security protocols (e.g., WPA2/WPA3, 802.1X)
• Experience with Routing Protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, RIP.
• Expertise in configuring and managing DHCP, Static IPs, and DNS.
• Familiarity with Backup Solutions and Disaster Recovery plans.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across both Linux and Windows platforms.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

Candidate Profile

• Education: B.E. / B. Tech / MCA / MCS or equivalent experience supporting end users in relevant technology
• You should have a minimum of 4+ years relevant experience to the role
• Hands on Knowledge and a thorough understanding on the relevant technologies
• Good Technical knowledge of networks, network security and their configuration and operational processes
• Proficient in Cisco Switching (catalyst, NX, upgrades and LAN security) and routing, Network Access Control, AAA, device build and upgrades
• Good understanding and hands on experience of Systems such as Firewall, Switches, Access Points
• Good understanding and hands on experience of Cisco ISE
• Knowledgeable in Dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP etc.
• Background and Experience with Physical and Virtual Appliances for VPN , Express Route , MPLS , Azure Network Security Groups, User Defined Routes, Load Balancers , NAT (Source and destination) , HA (Active/Active and Active/Passive) , Application integration , Reporting and Management
• Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, MCSE is required
