Production Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to oversee the manufacturing of critical defence components. The role involves managing CNC machining operations, programming CNC machines, ensuring high-quality production, and optimizing productivity through efficient tool selection and manpower planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in precision machining, quality assurance, and lean manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

Production & CNC Operations:

• Manage and oversee daily CNC machining operations, ensuring seamless production.
• Program, set up, and optimize CNC milling & turning machines for efficient operation.
• Develop machining strategies to improve cycle time, tool life, and overall efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to tight tolerances and precision engineering requirements.

Quality Control & Compliance:

• Implement and maintain quality control standards as per defence industry regulations.
• Conduct in-process inspections and ensure compliance with ISO & AS9100 standards.
• Troubleshoot machining defects and implement corrective actions.
• Work closely with the QA team to meet stringent defence-grade precision standards.

Productivity & Process Improvement:

• Identify and implement cost-effective tooling and process optimizations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean & Six Sigma methodologies.
• Monitor and analyze production metrics to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Plan and schedule production runs to meet deadlines and optimize machine utilization.

Manpower & Team Management:

• Lead and manage a team of CNC operators, machinists, and supervisors.
• Plan and allocate manpower effectively to maximize productivity.
• Provide training on new technologies, CNC programming, and process improvements.
• Ensure a safe and compliant working environment as per industrial safety norms.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelors/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or equivalent.
• 5-10 years of experience in CNC machining & production management in defence or aerospace manufacturing.
• Expertise in CNC programming (Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, and precision measurement tools.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
