Production Manager

Job Title : Production In-Charge

Qualification : BE / Any Degree

Experience : 5+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably in furniture production.

Industry: Furniture Manufacturing

Location: Porur (Chennai)

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and organize the production schedule to meet customer orders and deadlines.
• Ensure efficient utilization of resources (machines, materials, and labor).
• Coordinate with the procurement and inventory teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials.
• Supervise and lead the production team, including operators, assemblers, and other production staff.
• Ensure that employees are trained in safety standards, quality control procedures, and operating machinery effectively.
• Assign daily tasks and responsibilities to team members, monitor performance, and provide feedback.
• Ensure that all products meet quality standards and specifications.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Conduct regular quality checks and resolve any issues related to defective products.
• Monitor production performance, including tracking production output, machine efficiency, and labor productivity.
• Prepare and maintain detailed production reports, including data on output, downtime, and inventory levels.
• Analyze production metrics and make recommendations to improve production processes.
• Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of production machinery.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team for any repairs or upgrades to the equipment.
• Troubleshoot production issues to minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the workplace.
• Promote a safe working environment and ensure all safety procedures are followed.
• Conduct safety training for production staff and monitor compliance with safety protocols.
• Coordinate with other departments (design, quality control, sales, and procurement) to ensure smooth and efficient production processes.
• Address and resolve any production-related issues or delays promptly.
• Assist in managing production budgets and controlling costs.
• Monitor stock levels of materials and components and coordinate with the inventory team to ensure raw materials are available for production.
• Manage finished goods storage and ensure products are properly labeled and ready for shipment.
