Tax Senior Associate 1- State And Local Taxes

Responsibilities:

• Indirect Tax Compliance We are seeking an experienced indirect tax professional to join our growing team.As a compliance senior, you will be a part of our indirect tax compliance team which has talented and dedicated professionals who provide quality compliance services across a wide variety of industries and tax jurisdictions through use of technology to improve reporting and complianceYour key responsibilities as a senior will be for coordinating tax compliance work for clients. You will be working with a group of talented and innovative professionals dedicated to client service.

• Prepare indirect tax returns and other indirect tax filings (included but not limited to the following)
  • Goods and services tax (GST)
  • Harmonized sales tax (HST)
  • Provincial sales tax (PST)
  • Quebec sales tax (QST)
  • Registration of non-resident taxes for GST/HST and QST
  • Saskatchewan, Manitoba and British Columbia consumption tax PST
  • GST claim back/tax credits
• Prepare indirect tax account reconciliations.
• Contribute to client satisfaction by providing clients with quality, timely and responsive services, and work products.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related field from an accredited college or university

• CPA, CMI, JD or LLM preferred
• Minimum of 2 years experienceproviding sales and use tax consulting services in Industry, or a public accounting, consulting or law firm
• Possess thorough knowledge of a variety of state and local sales and use tax laws, regulations, policies and procedures, as well as tax planning, restructuring, due diligence, audit defense, and state controversy work

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters in Taxation or MBA desirable
• A proven record of building profitable, sustainable client relationships

• A proven record of simultaneously managing multiple projects and engagement teams for various clients
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
