Cloud and Systems Engineer

Our Ideal Candidate

Academic & Professional

• Minimum 8+ years of working experience with below skill sets.

• BE/B.Tech (4-year) or MS Degree in one of the following subject areas: Computer Science,

Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field required.

Skills & Attributes

• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS

• Linux, Windows

• Experience in writing scripts in PowerShell,Bash etc

• Terraform

• Kubernetes

• Ansible, Docker

• TCP/IP stack, Networking etc

• SQL Server databases (administration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, replication etc.)

• Disaster Recovery and technical Business Continuity Planning.

• Azure is desired.

Technical:

• Expertise working with cloud-based services, preferably AWS.

• Minimum 8+ years of experience in a Cloud or systems Engineer role or related position.

• Strong understanding in provisioning infrastructures by writing terraform scripts.

• Experience working with Linux and Windows environments.

• Strong awareness of networking and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP

and distributed networks.

• Templating Kubernetes clusters

• Should make developers life easy by monitoring and optimizing the operations

Writing CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications.

Add tools which makes lives easier to run applications at scale. Like Microsoft Teams

integrations for deployment related alerts or notifications.

Communicating and collaborating with others.

• Strong understanding of Linux based Operating systems

Hands on experience on Shell Scripting, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with major Cloud IAAS/PAAS like Azure, AWS, GCP.

Hands on experience with

• SQL Server databases (administration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, replication etc.)

• Skilled at working in tandem with a team of engineers, or alone as required.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement technical efforts to design, build, and deploy AWS applications at the

direction of lead architects, including large-scale data processing, computationally intensive

statistical modelling, and advanced analytics

• Participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle for AWS solutions, including

planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance

• Troubleshoot incidents, identify root cause, fix and document problems, and implement

preventive measures

• Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated

training as required

• Employ exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they

affect business productivity • Writing shell scripts for automation of daily activities, server

monitoring and requests from application teams.

• Working with information security team for closing vulnerabilities using patch management

tools.

• Configuring, managing and monitoring of backups jobs on EMC Networker backup tool and

troubleshooting in case of backup failures.

• Performing Root cause Analysis on recurring issues on server and backup infrastructure. •

Co-coordinating with respective teams in cases of hardware and OS related issues.

• Actively working for alerts generated for CPU, Memory and Disk utilizations and take

corrective actions. • Ensure SLAs defined for business are met. • Updating and maintain

Hardware asset registers for Internal and External audits

• Systems administration, maintenance and monitoring various day-to-day operations. • User

administration and managing the users like user account creation, deletion and

troubleshooting user login problems.

• Installing, Configuring & Managing Apache, Nginx, & Tomcat Web Servers.

• Working in DNS process, Configuring Mail servers postfix and send-mail., Configuring and

managing Network interface.

• Configuring & maintaining the NFS server.

• Installing the RPMs as per the request.

• Create folder and set full rights or Limited rights.

• Automated routine tasks and critical administration tasks using shell scripts.

• Experienced in monitoring system performance on slowness issues.

Others:

• Good knowledge of release process and control procedures.

• Networking Certifications is an additional advantage.

• Red-Hat Linux Certification is a plus.
