Roles and Responsibilities
The General Manager - Finance will lead and manage the financial operations of the company,
ensuring compliance, strategic financial planning, and robust financial management. This role
will be instrumental in overseeing financial performance, guiding cost control efforts, and driving
financial strategy while managing a team of finance professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Financial Management:
Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company's growth objectives.
Oversee the financial planning process, including budgeting, forecasting, and
financial modeling.
2. Monthly P&L Analysis:
Develop and maintain systems for analyzing monthly P&L statements across various dimensions (Service, Function, Brand).
Provide strategic insights into financial performance and present comprehensive reports to senior management.
3. Cost Control & Monitoring:
Implement and oversee cost control measures by analyzing production, labor, material, and overhead costs.
Identify cost inefficiencies and recommend strategic cost-reduction measures to enhance profitability.
4. Compliance & Reporting:
Ensure adherence to corporate financial laws, GST, TDS, ESI, PF, and other relevant regulations.
Oversee the preparation and submission of timely compliance and financial reports.
5. Cash Flow & Risk Management:
Ensure adequate cash flow to support smooth organizational operations.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize cash flow and manage liquidity risks.
Conduct risk analysis on liabilities and investments, proposing risk mitigation strategies.
6. Advanced Accounting & Tax Planning:
Oversee advanced accounting practices and tax planning strategies to optimize financial performance.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
7. Financial Transparency:
Ensure transparency in financial reporting, providing accurate and detailed
financial insights to stakeholders.
8. Cost Accounting & Product Costing:
Apply cost accounting techniques to determine per-unit costs of products/services.
Develop and refine product costing models and assist in pricing decisions and financial forecasting.
9. Inventory Management:
Monitor and manage inventory levels to effectively meet customer demand and optimize turnover.
10. Cost Estimations & Decision Support:
Support cost estimations for new products/services and offer financial insights to aid in decision-making processes.
11. Team Leadership & Development:
Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative work environment.
Ensure continuous development and training for team members.
12. Financial IT System Management:
Oversee the finance IT systems, driving improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
13. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes across the organization.
