- Oversee the daily operations of the motor underwriting department, ensuring efficient processing and assessment of motor insurance applications.
- Develop and implement underwriting policies, guidelines, and procedures to manage risk and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate and underwrite complex motor insurance risks, making decisions on policy terms, conditions, and pricing.
- Monitor and analyze underwriting performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with the sales and claims departments to ensure a seamless approach to motor insurance services.
- Maintain strong relationships with agents, and other stakeholders, providing expert advice and support on underwriting matters.
- Review and approve large or complex motor insurance applications, ensuring appropriate risk assessment and pricing.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes to ensure competitive and compliant underwriting practices.
- Prepare regular reports on underwriting performance, risk exposure, and key metrics for senior management review.
- Bachelor s degree in insurance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in motor underwriting within the insurance industry.
- Strong knowledge of motor insurance policies, underwriting principles, and relevant regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using underwriting software.
