Role Summary:
Risk assessment and placement of profitable lives on the company books.
Able to use various ways to assess the risk like social media, competitor checks and RCU reports
Should be able to coordinate with new business, Legal, IT team for resolutions/expert opinions.
Ensure adherence to SLAs for underwiring process (TAT & Accuracy).
Mentor, guide & train team members, Branch Underwriters and consultant
Ensure quality & accuracy of risk assessment
Sharing feedback and conducting meetings with the relevant stakeholder s time to time
Evaluate emerging trends, competition practices, formulate options and propose recommendations on guideline to senior management
Able to assess risk basis reinsurance manual and liaison with reinsurer for required life covers

Selection and categorization of right risk
Processing cases and categorizing it to right risk with help of Reinsurer manual, social media and guidelines
Achieving to clear aligned target and getting the same completed by team
Audit and Compliance
Handling audit queries and right response
Adherence to compliance guidelines
Resolutions
Query handling of internal & external customers with right resolution
Co-ordinating with Legal & Compliance team for customer queries and solution to it
To ensure quality & accuracy and ensure prudent risk management in UW
Good knowledge on insurance & products & ability to take decisions post issuance on medical as well as Financials with all product facts keeping in mind
Ensure100% quality completion and adherence with CMO opinion and UW guidelines
Also ensure all the new business, Quality check required on Underwriting along with RCU findings (if required)
Underwriting High value complex and HNI cases includes analyzing Profit and loss accounts with Balance sheet and other financial records
Presenting case summary and representing to reinsurers, communicating with distribution stakeholders
Coordination to Resolve requirement of CMO opinion for post issuance cases
Preparing presentations and accuracy score to sr Management along with training of vendors
To analyze key indicators every quarter and propose necessary amendments to achieve compliant and competitive risk assessment.
Templatising key factors that impact underwriting and in force business by type, product penetration and morbid conditions.
Analyze the pending and closed business to facilitated identifying the trends with reason to offer solutions to minimize the same.
To ensure periodic review of SOPs & SLAs to recommend amendments.
To ensure and monitor professional & personal development of the staff.
Nominate the staff members for internal and external training programs basis their job responsibilities.
To ensure performance optimization of the staff month on month to increase the productivity of the team.
Risk
Own-up the risk by developing a risk aware culture through participation in measurement, analysis and mitigation of risks .
This includes development of risk response processes, participation in reporting of emerging risks with potential impacts.
Also respond to risks highlighted by employees, RCU team through formal / informal mechanisms.
E Skills Required
Technical
Medical background- Education - B. Pharm/B.Sc./B. Com/MBBS/BDS/BHMS/BAMS
Experience - 8-12 years in insurance industry
Able to conduct medical training for team and Partners
Knowledge of evaluating various risk factors in Underwriting.
Effective presentation and interpersonal skills.
Good system skills in Excel/Word.
