The Cloud Governance Administrator is responsible for overseeing and managing the governance of cloud environments, specifically within the context of the Managed Services framework, with a primary focus on Azure. This role plays a pivotal part in tracking and optimizing Azure costs, managing internal invoicing and chargebacks, and ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. The Administrator will collaborate closely with auditors, develop and enforce cloud governance policies, and ensure that all practices align with the company s strategic objectives. They will also be responsible for the preparation and delivery of regular Managed Services reports, showcasing the division s achievements, cloud cost efficiencies, and governance compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and report on Azure cloud costs, providing detailed analysis and insights to various departments
Manage internal invoicing and chargebacks for cloud services across different business units
Develop, implement, and maintain cloud governance policies and procedures in alignment with organizational goals
Collaborate with auditors to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, such as GDPR and ISO/IEC 27001
Work with cross-functional teams to establish cost optimization strategies and ensure cost-efficient cloud usage
Ensure proper documentation and communication of governance policies across the organization
Conduct regular audits of cloud resources and usage to identify areas for improvement and enforce governance standards
Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure governance practices support business objectives
Prepare and deliver regular reports on Managed Services performance, including achievements in cost optimization, governance compliance, and cloud resource management
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Finance, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
3-5+ years of experience in cloud cost management, financial governance, or a similar role
Strong understanding of Azure pricing models, cost management tools, and cloud billing processes
Experience with financial reporting, invoicing, and budget management in a cloud environment
Familiarity with cloud governance best practices and compliance requirements
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across departments
Relevant certifications such as Azure Cost Management Specialty, FinOps Certified Practitioner, or similar are a plus
