Consultant - Claims

Under limited supervision, creates a system extracted output or excel based output by capturing data related to medical, non-medical, and financial aspects from underwriting and claims documents relating to life & health insurance using OCR/ML/NLP technology.

Claims related activities:

• Create bidder files, extract data from all the fields provided from documents such as application forms, medical records, questionnaires, financial statements, claims documents using OCR/ML technology

• Perform QA check on data extracts, correct any incompatibilities and ensure high accuracy case summary output

• Ensure completion of assigned task in a timely and efficient manner, meeting or exceeding turnaround time and productivity goals and ensuring compliance with internal audit guidelines

• Prepare test scenarios and Perform UAT, regression testing and system functionality testing as deemed necessary

Other Duties:

• Collaborate with functional and cross-functional teams across the globe, including participating in regular update meetings, Teams group updates and discussions, and project brainstorming sessions to ensure the Case Summary process continues to function in a smooth and seamless manner

• Provide feedback to third party vendors to continually improve performance of the OCR system

• Builds and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external clients and uses effective listening skills to understand their needs in relation to machine learning technology an all its various components

• Performs backup support and other duties as assigned.

• Participate in regular process review and provide feedback for process improvement

Required:

• Bachelor s Degree and equivalent related work experience (2-3 years).

• Ability to comprehend and analyze medical and financial information quickly to making sound data entry recording

• Advanced oral and written communication skills demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge.

• Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions.

• Must be flexible, creative, self-motivated and ability to work well both within a team environment as well as independently

• Sound working knowledge of:

• Underwriting, claims, IT skills as needed for delivering claims automation in life reinsurance/insurance risks.

• Excel, Word, Power Point

• Ability to travel occasionally

Preferred:

• 4-5 years of experience in Underwriting & claims automation FALU/DLDU or other industry qualifications.

• Past exposure to any IT related project and working experience pertaining to underwriting or claims automation.

• Comfort and familiarity with handling technologies such as OCR/Machine Learning/NLP systems.
