We are seeking a Senior SEO Specialist with extensive experience in eCommerce platforms and a strong background in Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager (GTM), and advanced performance tracking. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in CRO audits on Shopify, technical SEO, heat mapping tools, and data analysis to drive performance optimization. This role requires hands-on implementation of advanced tracking capabilities, detailed monthly performance reporting, and collaboration with developers to execute data-driven strategies effectively.
1. Advanced GTM Implementation & Tracking
Utilize Google Tag Manager (GTM) to its fullest capacity for tracking all aspects of website performance, including but not limited to:
Enhanced eCommerce tracking (product impressions, clicks, add-to-cart events, and transactions).
Custom event tracking for micro-conversions such as button clicks, video engagement, and form submissions.
Implementation of scroll-depth tracking, session recordings, and outbound link tracking.
Cross-domain tracking to capture accurate user journeys across multiple platforms.
Ensure the accurate setup and validation of tracking tags and triggers, minimizing data discrepancies.
Troubleshoot and resolve tracking issues, collaborating with developers for smooth integration.
2. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Analyze GA4 reports alongside Shopify analytics, identifying discrepancies and ensuring data alignment.
Compare key metrics from GA4 and Shopify (eg, sales, traffic sources, conversion rates, AOV) to provide a holistic view of platform performance.
Leverage heat mapping tools like Hotjar or VWO to identify user behavior trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
Organic traffic trends, keyword rankings, and CTR.
eCommerce KPIs such as revenue, transactions, and product performance.
Insights from Shopify and GA4, including actionable recommendations.
3. SEO Strategy & Optimization
Conduct comprehensive site audits to uncover technical SEO issues, such as crawl errors, indexing problems, and duplicate content.
Optimize eCommerce-specific elements, including product metadata, internal linking, schema markup, and structured data.
Develop strategies to improve page load Fspeed, mobile usability, and site architecture.
Work with the content team to produce SEO-friendly copy, incorporating targeted keywords and addressing user intent.
4. Collaboration & Implementation
Collaborate with developers to implement SEO recommendations, such as optimizing code for performance, fixing technical issues, and ensuring proper tagging implementation.
Partner with the UX team to enhance site navigation, improve conversion paths, and optimize user experiences.
Provide actionable proposals for site improvements, including visual examples, expected outcomes, and timelines.
5. Insights & Strategy Development
Identify trends in user behavior, traffic sources, and conversion rates to craft strategies that improve ROI and drive growth.
Utilize competitive analysis tools (eg, Ahrefs, SEMrush) to benchmark performance against industry standards.
Conduct A/B testing on key pages, evaluating changes to CTAs, layouts, or copy for impact on performance.
Preferred Skills:
Proven experience as an SEO Specialist, with a focus on eCommerce platforms (Shopify, Magento, etc). 4+ years
Expertise in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM) for advanced tracking implementation and troubleshooting.
Proficiency in heat mapping tools like VWO, Hotjar or Microsoft Clarity.
Strong understanding of eCommerce performance drivers, including page speed, UX, mobile optimization, and conversion funnel optimization.
Experience with Shopify analytics apps and plugins.
Knowledge of CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization) principles
Experience creating detailed monthly performance reports by comparing GA4 data with Shopify analytics.
Familiarity with SEO tools such as Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush, or Moz.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to be able to interface with customers and partner agencies.
Strong analytical and report generation skills.
