Job Description: Key Account Manager
Position Overview:
The Key Account Manager (KAM) for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) is
responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients in the
OEM segment. The role focuses on driving sales, managing customer accounts, and
ensuring the delivery of customized solutions to meet client needs, all while achieving
revenue and profitability targets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Account Management:
• Develop and nurture long-term relationships with OEM clients.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring seamless
communication and support.
• Address client inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure high levels of
customer satisfaction.
2. Sales & Business Development:
• Identify new business opportunities within existing OEM accounts.
• Drive sales growth by upselling and cross-selling products and services.
• Develop and execute strategic account plans to meet and exceed revenue
targets.
3. Client Strategy & Negotiation:
• Collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives, needs,
and pain points.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements to ensure mutual
benefit.
• Work closely with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions for OEM
partners.
4. Market Analysis & Insights:
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences
in the OEM segment.
• Provide insights and feedback to internal teams to refine product
offerings and strategies.
• Stay updated on industry developments and technological advancements
relevant to OEMs.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Liaise with product, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure timely
delivery of solutions.
• Coordinate with marketing teams to design campaigns and promotional
materials for OEM accounts.
• Ensure alignment between client expectations and organizational
capabilities.
6. Performance Tracking & Reporting:
• Track account performance and generate regular reports for senior
management.
• Analyse key performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
• Maintain accurate and updated records of client interactions in CRM
systems.
Key Skills & Competencies:
• Relationship Building: Strong ability to build and maintain client
relationships.
• Sales Expertise: Proven track record in meeting and exceeding sales
targets.
• Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate contracts and close deals
effectively.
• Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analysing data to drive decision-making.
• Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the OEM market and related
industries.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Problem-Solving: Strong aptitude for resolving client challenges
efficiently.
Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in business, Engineering, or a related field (MBA
preferred).
• 6+ years of experience in key account management, sales, or business
development, preferably in the OEM or B2B sector.
• Familiarity with CRM tools and sales tracking software.
• Willingness to travel as required.
