How will you make an impact in this role?

This position is for a key member of the Global Rewards Center of Excellence and will be responsible for providing accounting guidance on rewards related transactions and control questions that arise during the year. This will include liaising with various internal and external groups throughout the organization. Incumbent will be required to utilize their understanding of control environment to analyze current practice with a view to improve processes by providing alternative solutions. Candidates should have a working knowledge of card economics and an understanding of how loyalty programs drive those economics. Additionally, knowledge of American Express financial systems, operational accounting, internal controls and overall business acumen will be key success factors.

Responsibilities:

• The Incumbent Should Have Sound Accounting Knowledge And Prior Exposure To Amex Processes, Business And Systems.
• Must Possess Excellent- Written And Verbal Communication Skills, Including The Ability To Clearly And Concisely Translate Complex Accounting Jargon Into Plain English.
• Interface with key reporting groups/ systems and interaction with technologies groups
• Support the maintenance of a robust control environment for E2E Rewards
• Support projects and business initiatives to ensure Financial and Control requirements / considerations are addressed 6. Conduct Post Implementation Reviews This role may be subject to additional background verification checks

Required Skills/Qualifications:

• Accounting or Finance with a degree in Accounting or Finance; CA and/or MBA highly desired
• Knowledge of Financial Services industry preferred
• Demonstrated commitment to quality and accuracy- Proven demonstration of personal excellence
• Ability to process information (identify issues) quickly
• Strong communication skills
• SOX, Operational Risk and/or Audit experience preferred
• Results driven, self-starter; able to lead and influence without authority
• Works well in a changing environment and with tight deadline
