Job Overview:The Manager - Product is responsible for leading and managing the product lifecycle, from ideation to launch and post-launch performance. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support, to ensure the successful development and delivery of products that meet customer needs and drive business growth.
The Manager - Product will define product strategies, prioritize product features, and guide the product development process to ensure market success.
Key Responsibilities:Product Strategy and Vision:Develop and articulate the product vision and strategy in alignment with business goals and market demands.Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and customer needs that inform product decisions.Define product roadmaps, set clear objectives, and communicate them to internal teams, stakeholders, and customers.
Product Development:Lead the end-to-end product development process, from concept to launch, ensuring the product meets customer expectations and market requirements.Work closely with engineering, design, and other functional teams to ensure timely and high-quality product delivery.Prioritize product features, balancing business needs, customer feedback, and technical feasibility.Collaborate with the development team to create user stories, specifications, and product requirements.Cross-functional Collaboration:Act as the main point of contact between product management and other departments such as engineering, sales, marketing, and customer support.Collaborate with marketing to create go-to-market strategies, product positioning, and messaging.Coordinate with sales and customer support teams to gather customer feedback and ensure proper product training.Support the sales team with product knowledge, demos, and collateral to drive product adoption.Product Launch and Go-to-Market:Manage the launch process for new products or features, ensuring proper preparation and alignment across all teams.Develop and execute product launch plans, including marketing, sales enablement, and customer communication strategies.Work with the marketing team to create promotional content, advertisements, and campaigns to increase product visibility and adoption.Product Lifecycle Management:Monitor product performance post-launch, analyzing user feedback, usage data, and business KPIs.Ensure continuous product improvement through iterations, bug fixes, and updates, based on customer feedback and performance data.Manage the product backlog, ensuring it reflects the current market needs and customer feedback.Customer and Market Insights:Gather customer feedback through surveys, interviews, and user testing to drive product improvements.Analyze customer usage patterns, pain points, and feedback to identify areas for product optimization and innovation.Conduct market and competitive analysis to ensure the product remains competitive and addresses customer needs.
Data Analysis and Reporting:Analyze key product metrics, including adoption rates, revenue, customer satisfaction, and engagement, to assess product success.Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to track product performance and outcomes.Use data to make informed decisions and iterate on the product.
Risk Management and Problem Solving:Identify risks in the product development process and take proactive measures to mitigate them.Address and resolve any issues or roadblocks that may impact product timelines, quality, or customer satisfaction.Be a problem solver in balancing conflicting priorities and delivering solutions that benefit both the business and customers.
Qualifications and Skills:Education:Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.A Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) or other relevant certifications is a plus.
Experience:Minimum 5-7 years of experience in product management or a related field, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial role.Proven track record of successfully managing the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to post-launch analysis.Experience in [industry-specific experience, e.g., technology, finance, FMCG, etc.] is preferred.Skills:Strong understanding of product management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across teams and influence stakeholders.Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and customer feedback to inform product decisions.Proficiency in product management tools (e.g., JIRA, Asana, Trello) and data analytics tools.Ability to define and prioritize product features based on customer needs and business impact.
