PCB Design Engineer

Electrical & Electronics Design Engineer to handle complete end-to-end product development cycle starting from customer requirement to product manufacturing, communicating, and coordinating effectively with vendors, contractors and workers and ensuring timely execution of the project.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Understand customer contractual requirements to design & manufacture products
• Responsible for product design wrt electrical parameters, light output, PCB design, Gerber generation, stencils
• Responsible for New Product development, Driver Development & Evaluation.
• Monitor production activities & take complete control in manufacturing
• Responsible for reviewing the complete design and releasing a detailed and accurate BOM for electrical and electronic components
• Liaise with customers/ vendors/ contractors in case of any technical clarifications
• Ensure timely preparation of BOMs & drawings and other design documents for manufacturing activities
• Evaluate, select, approve and manage vendors for electrical and electronic components
• Manage production team and communicate effectively with cross functioning team members for smooth functioning of manufacturing.
• Keep a tab on and minimize wastage of materials & eliminate misuse of raw materials
• Monitor skill sets of team members & mentor them to gear up to new challenges for effective & productive work culture
• Understand product certifications if any, and communicate to various testing labs and plan the schedule without hampering the delivery schedule.
• Transfer of technology from design to production, quality and installation teams.
• Establish product reliability as per the contractual requirements.
• Prepare product documents viz. technical specs, conformances.
• Determine product pricing/ cost outs of electrical and electronics components
• Implement Quality systems
• Responsible for maintenance & periodic calibration of test & measuring Instruments.
• Responsible for Pick & Place M/c Programming, Screen Printing, Laser Cutting & IR reflow systems.
• Preparation of technical conformance reports for Incoming materials as per applicable Industry Standards.
• Responsible for DFMEA, PFMEA & DFM
• Responsible for Test Fixtures & Zigs
• Responsible to implement quality system and adhere to ISO standards

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications

• B.E/ B.Tech/ Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering
• Engineer: 2-4 yrs experience
• Experience in Manufacturing and power electronics
• Experience in LED Lighting Industry would be an added advantage
• Should be conversant with LED Lighting Industry standards and compliance
• Should be aware of LEDs, Packages, PCBs and circuit designs, selection of drivers & power supplies, circuit layout design concepts, routing of single layer and multi-layer boards
• Should be conversant with Production Machinery viz., Pick & Place, Wave soldering & IR reflow. Rework techniques involving LED boards would be an added advantage
• Should have good communication skills
• Should know how to speak English & Kannada, Hindi
