Redaptive is seeking a self-motivated, passionate, and collaborative Solar Engineering Associate to work closely with our growing team based in the US India. The Solar Engineering Associate will collaborate with the Engineering Solutions, Data Analytics, and Business Development teams, supporting preliminary project development activities for both PV Solar and battery storage.
Job Responsibilities
Support preliminary project development activities for PV Solar and battery storage, including initial scoping, creation of layout designs, and proposals.
Perform design calculations and create solar photovoltaic rooftop, carport, and ground-mounted system layouts and designs.
Conduct detailed engineering simulations and modeling using relevant tools (MS Excel, Helioscope, Energy Toolbase, AutoCAD, Google Sketchup etc.).
Perform utility data analysis of utilities in different states with different rate classes.
Conduct engineering research for optimal design parameters and component selection.
Read and understand complex energy regulations, summarizing key parts affecting market opportunities and sales growth.
Review of EV charging scope of work, provide feedback on technical commercial side.
Create, deliver, and maintain documentation for all project responsibilities as required.
Interface with internal stakeholders to understand their design requirements and guidelines.
Support in completion applications and forms in line with client requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
2-3 years of experience working in Solar industry.
Intermediate-advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
Able to carry out desktop research independently/with minimal guidance.
Able to thrive in a startup environment and work with a high degree of autonomy.
Great attitude, willing, thoughtful, and proactive.
Excels in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills and presentation skills.
Attention to detail.
Comfortable with flexible working hours.
Good to Have:
Academic background in solar PV technology.
Familiarity with different PV and Storage system components such as PV modules, inverters, transformers, etc.
Familiarity with Solar design tools such as Energy Toolbase.
Intermediate to advance knowledge of AutoCAD, Google Sketchup 3D.
Knowledge about EV chargers.
Knowledge of the US solar market and various policy frameworks.
Familiarity with US standards relevant to Solar PV/Storage installations.
Knowledge about utilities from different states in US.
Experience and knowledge of building performance simulation tools and data analysis tools will be a distinctive advantage.
Knowledge of basic electricals i.e., power quality, harmonics, power factor, etc.
Understanding and experience in solar storage technology is an added advantage.
Ability to carry out utility data analysis and knowledge of relevant weather normalization techniques.
Education and Experience
Bachelors in an engineering field (Renewable / Sustainability / Mechanical / Electrical engineering), but other technical areas of study can also be considered with strong experience.
Completed master s program with a proven ability will be added advantage to apply domain knowledge in identifying new opportunities in the sector.
