Job Description

The role requires experienced sales professionals in logistics, 3PL industry, transportation or freight forwarding industry who shall lead, guide and manage a team of sales executives in their region. We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented business development manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, building, and maintaining strong client relationships, and driving revenue growth. He/she will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to expand our market presence and achieve business objectives.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Customer Acquisition and Lead Generation

  • Identify potential customers in logistics industry through market research and cold call
  • Develop a lead generation strategy and build a good pipeline of potential clients.
  • Convert qualified leads into customers quickly and constantly grow revenue and profit
  • Explore new business opportunities, potential markets, and customer segments to expand the companys presence

2. Achieve and Exceed Sales Targets

  • Set and achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales targets as defined by the companys objectives.
  • Drive revenue growth by actively pursuing and closing new business deals with small, medium, and large enterprises.
  • Regularly track, analyze, and report on sales performance to ensure targets are met or exceeded.

3. Team Management and Leadership

  • Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a team of junior sales executives to ensure they meet their individual sales targets.
  • Monitor team performance, provide constructive feedback, and implement improvement plans when necessary.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings, set clear objectives, and provide guidance on strategic sales initiatives.
  • Lead by example by actively participating in customer acquisition activities alongside the team.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Excellent oral and written communication and good listening skills
  • Ability to work individually and also to lead a team of sales executives with high-level of integrity and work ethics
  • Strong problem identification, sales and business development, negotiation and objections resolution skills
  • Minimum 12 to 15 years of experience in freight forwarding, transportation and logistics sales and business development
