Role & responsibilities
- Ensure that the designs conceptualized for all projects and all segments are in line with product positioning, market requirements and cost parameters
- Identifying and guiding partners for design both locally and globally and relevant to the different business segments of the company.
- Initiating and driving strategic improvement projects in design to enhance quality and cost competitiveness
- Participate in product conceptualizing with Marketing and business development to identify appropriate products in various markets and for different segments
- Lead the design efforts by articulating key design elements in line with market / segment requirements and developing the design concepts for various products
- Build and grow the technological base and initiate strategic technical initiatives to give the company a competitive edge in terms of cost, design and technology
- Identify strategic partners for design and other initiatives and build relationships
- Design and detail where required new product initiatives together with marketing and evaluate product performance.
- Review all designs with the design team and partners and get the necessary support and buy in from other functions
- Ensure that adequate documentation is maintained by the design function and all necessary processes are implemented
- Identify the technical up-gradation requirements of the company and identify appropriate solutions
- Detail the quality, technical and other standards that need to be maintained in the organization to ensure a safe and conducive working environment and high standards of the product
- Facilitate & support implementation of new systems and process improvements
- Recruit appropriate talent where required for work area
- Carry out performance appraisals, assess capability, and training needs of individuals in the function.
- Career planning for employees through guiding, coaching, mentoring and motivating them towards superior team performance & for achieving department and units objectives.
- Develop teams capabilities and keep updated with the latest trends
Preferred candidate profile
- B. Arch / M. Arch with 5- 12 years of relevant work experience
- Familiarity with real estate or construction sector
