The Azure FinOps Engineer is responsible for managing and optimizing cloud costs using Azure FinOps practices. The role involves analyzing and identifying cost-saving opportunities, implementing and managing cost management tools, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and optimize cloud costs using Azure FinOps practices.
Analyze and identify cost-saving opportunities and present these to stakeholders.
Implement and manage Azure cost management and optimization tools.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cost-effective cloud usage.
FinOps Responsibilities :
Providing visibility into cloud spending and usage across the organization.
Generating and interpreting reports on cloud expenditure, resource utilization, and usage optimization.
Analyzing cloud cost data to identify trends and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
Experience:
3 to 5 years of relevant experience in cloud computing, financial analysis, and cost management.
At least 2 years of experience with Azure cloud platforms in a technical or operational role.
Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-400) are a plus.
Technical Skills:
Cloud Computing Expertise: Strong understanding of Azure cloud services, including infrastructure, software, and platform as a service (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS).
Azure Cost Management Tools: Proficiency in using Azure Cost Management and Azure Advisor tools for cost optimization.
Data Analysis: Experience with data analysis tools and techniques, including data visualization, statistical analysis, and machine learning.
Programming Skills and Tools:
Languages: Knowledge of programming languages such as MSSQL.
Software:
Advanced proficiency in Excel Power Query, Power BI, and MSSQL.
Advanced proficiency with Flexera (Previously known as RightScale).
Experience with secure coding practices.
Soft Skills:
Experience in a DevOps environment.
Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify trends, patterns, and areas for cost reduction.
