SolidWorks Design Engineer -Sheet Metal, Assembly Systems of SPM

Role & responsibilities

1. Conceptual Design and Modeling

• Create 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks to visualize design concepts and improve product aesthetics and functionality.
• Design initial sketches and draft models for approval and further development.

2. Product Development

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and manufacturing, to develop designs that meet customer and business requirements.
• Optimize designs for manufacturability, considering factors like material selection, ease of production, and cost.

3. Detailed Technical Drawings

• Produce detailed technical drawings, specifications, and schematics required for the production and assembly of components.
• Ensure that drawings meet engineering standards and comply with regulatory requirements.

4. Simulation and Testing (optional additional skill)

• Use SolidWorks Simulation and other analysis tools to test product durability, stress, thermal behavior, and other conditions.
• Analyze and interpret simulation results to refine and improve designs.

5. Collaboration with Production Teams

• Work closely with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues arising during manufacturing.
• Support the transition from prototype to mass production, providing guidance on design adjustments if needed.

6. Continuous Improvement and Innovation

• Stay updated with the latest SolidWorks features, CAD technologies, and industry standards.
• Engage in research to find more efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable design solutions.

Skills Needed

• Proficiency in SolidWorks, including advanced features like Surface Modeling, Sheet Metal, Simulation, and Motion Analysis.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and other industry standards.

Preferred candidate profile

Hands on Experience in Solid works & Auto CAD in designing and drawing of mechanical parts and assemblies of industrial machine
