Position: Training and Placement Head
Department: Training and Placement
Location: Rama University , Kanpur
Reports To: Director: / Dean

Position Summary:
The Training and Placement Head will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of training, placement, and recruitment processes within the organization. This leadership role requires a proactive individual who can manage and structure the team, handle placement data, plan and execute training activities, and forecast business and placement trends for the upcoming 6 months to 1 year. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, strategic, and able to work effectively with students, faculty, and external organizations to ensure successful job placements and skill development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Management and Structuring:
    • Lead and manage the training and placement team, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities within the department.
    • Build, train, and motivate the team to meet organizational goals and objectives.
    • Ensure seamless communication and collaboration across the team, departments, and with external stakeholders.
  2. Training and Development:
    • Oversee and structure the training programs aimed at developing students' skills in alignment with industry standards.
    • Design, implement, and evaluate training programs based on student needs and industry requirements.
    • Partner with internal and external trainers to conduct soft skills, technical, and industry-specific training sessions.
  3. Placement Data Management:
    • Collect, manage, and analyze placement data to track placement success, industry trends, and areas for improvement.
    • Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting of all placement activities.
    • Create reports for the management team highlighting placement rates, student progress, and employer feedback.
  4. Business Forecasting and Strategy:
    • Forecast placement trends, market demands, and business data for the next 6 months to 1 year.
    • Analyze market shifts, emerging industries, and job opportunities, and structure the training plan to meet future demand.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key industry partners to ensure the organization remains competitive in the job placement landscape.
  5. Employer Relationship Management:
    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with corporate partners, recruiters, and industry professionals to secure placement opportunities for students.
    • Organize recruitment drives, on-campus interviews, and internship programs with top employers.
    • Regularly update and communicate with potential employers regarding the capabilities of students and available talent.
  6. Student Placement Support:
    • Provide personalized guidance and career counseling to students, helping them understand industry expectations and preparing them for interviews.
    • Coordinate with academic departments to ensure students are industry-ready and prepared for placement.
    • Track and monitor the progress of students post-placement to ensure successful career outcomes.
  7. Performance Monitoring & Improvement:
    • Set and track measurable goals for placement success, student preparedness, and training effectiveness.
    • Collect feedback from students, employers, and faculty to improve placement processes and training programs.
    • Develop action plans based on feedback and performance data to continuously enhance the placement process.
  8. Reporting and Communication:
    • Prepare and present regular reports on placement activities, training programs, and team performance to senior management.
    • Coordinate with the administration to communicate placement updates and student progress effectively.
  9. Additional Responsibilities:
    • Stay updated with industry trends, employment regulations, and educational technologies that may impact the placement process.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote success stories, recruitment events, and industry partnerships.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years in a similar role, with proven success in managing training and placement activities, team leadership, and industry relations.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Analytical ability to work with data and forecast trends effectively.
    • Experience with training program design and implementation.
    • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and data analysis tools.
    • Knowledge of industry trends and employment markets.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Strategic thinker with a solution-oriented approach.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
    • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
    • Excellent multitasking abilities with a focus on achieving measurable results.
