MEP - DGM/General Manager

Role & responsibilities

1. Project Leadership & Coordination:
   
• Lead and manage the MEP team, including engineers, supervisors, and contractors, to ensure all systems are designed, procured, installed, and commissioned according to the project schedule.
• Coordinate with the architect, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate MEP systems into the overall design of the high-rise residential project.
• Manage the overall MEP project scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring that the project remains on track.
2. Design & Technical Oversight:
   
• Oversee MEP systems design, ensuring that designs meet all project requirements, codes, standards, and best practices.
• Review MEP design plans, specifications, and drawings for accuracy and feasibility.
• Provide technical guidance and support to design teams, ensuring that MEP systems are efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective.
3. Vendor & Subcontractor Management:
   
• Select and manage MEP contractors, vendors, and suppliers. Ensure contracts are executed on time and within budget.
• Manage the procurement process for all MEP systems, including equipment, materials, and services.
• Ensure that all MEP work is completed according to the projects quality standards and timelines.
4. Quality Control & Compliance:
   
• Ensure compliance with all local and international building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards in MEP systems.
• Implement quality control procedures to monitor work performance and ensure that MEP installations are defect-free.
• Conduct site inspections and walk-throughs to ensure that all installations meet approved designs and specifications.
5. Project Monitoring & Reporting:
   
• Provide regular updates to the Project Director/Operations Manager on MEP project status, progress, and any issues that may arise.
• Track and report on the progress of MEP installation, including critical milestones, timelines, and budget adherence.
• Proactively address and resolve technical, scheduling, and cost issues related to MEP systems.
6. Safety & Risk Management:
   
• Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols throughout the MEP installation process.
• Conduct safety meetings, risk assessments, and audits to identify potential hazards and mitigate risks on-site.
• Promote a culture of safety within the MEP team and all subcontractors.
7. Team Development & Training:
   
• Mentor and develop MEP engineers and technicians, fostering skills development, teamwork, and professional growth.
• Promote continuous improvement within the team and encourage innovation in MEP solutions.

Key Qualifications & Skills:

• Education:
  
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering (Master's degree is a plus).
• Experience:
  
• At least 18years of experience in MEP management, with at least 7 years in a leadership role in high-rise residential projects.
• Proven experience managing large-scale, complex residential construction projects with a focus on MEP systems.

• Technical Skills:
  
• In-depth knowledge of MEP systems design and installation, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical, and lighting.
• Familiarity with building systems such as BMS (Building Management Systems) and integration of smart home technology in residential buildings.
• Strong understanding of construction and MEP-related codes, standards, and regulations.
• Leadership Skills:
  
• Strong leadership and team management skills with a focus on project execution, problem-solving, and decision-making.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to manage various stakeholders including clients, contractors, and consultants.
