Backend Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain server-side applications and services.
• Implement RESTful APIs for frontend and external integrations.
• Manage and interact with databases, ensuring data integrity and optimization.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements.
• Optimize applications for speed and scalability.
• Develop and maintain automated tests and deployment pipelines.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues in a timely manner.
• Participate in project planning and sprint meetings.
• Ensure adherence to security best practices in the application.
• Write and maintain clear documentation for backend systems.
• Contribute to system architecture design discussions.
• Monitor and improve application performance regularly.
• Assist in the technical training of junior developers.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Proven experience as a Backend Developer or similar role.
• Strong understanding of programming languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js.
• Experience with database management systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
• Familiarity with RESTful and SOAP APIs.
• Knowledge of server management, cloud services, and workload balancing.
• Understanding of unit and integration testing.
• Experience with version control systems, especially Git.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management tools.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with microservices and containerization is a plus.
• Knowledge of frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
