Reporting To Head of Operations iAM Division

Key Aim:

In this role, you will provide an essential part of the devops product workflow for the Customer UK iAM function providing technical expertise and leadership in DevOps methodology including; Gitlab, Docker, SDLC, CI/CD, Agile Software Development, Configuration Management, and pipeline troubleshooting.

You will be responsible for automating the CI/CD process of a wide range of cloud based applications and SaaS offerings using latest cloud technologies and infrastructure. We are looking for someone who is passionate about automating processes, delivering high quality systems, and continuously improving processes.

• Support and improve tooling for continuous build, automated testing and release management

• Profile build processes and identify bottlenecks

• Demonstrate expertise in writing scripts to automate tasks

• Implements Continuous Integration/Deployment build principles

• Expertise in Docker image build optimization

• Work to consolidate and improve CI/CD processes

• Help the iAM function develop an overall strategy for deploying code

• Other duties as assigned

Key Duties & Tasks:

• Proposes new solutions based on research and synthesis of best practices and able to functionally support the CI/CD processes of the development team

• Proactively learns new solutions and processes to address possible blockers or problems in product teams

• Support and improve tooling for continuous build, automated testing and release management

• Ability to build, maintain, and run workloads on Kubernetes orchestration systems using docker

• Knowledge and practical experience of cloud tooling and best practices

• Profile build processes and identify bottlenecks

• Demonstrate expertise in writing scripts to automate tasks

• Implements Continuous Integration/Deployment build principles

• Provide expertise in quality engineering, test planning and testing methodology for a software project

• Build and maintain documentation related to build processes and product environmental configurations

• Responsible for automating the deployment process of cloud based applications.

• Responsible to maintain the integration of CI/CD pipelines with SAST/SCA/DAST tools.

• Responsible for estimating and planning the CI/CD tasks.

• Works very closely with the development teams to ensure the integrity of each release.

• Maintains source control branches.

• Proactively engages with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and design solutions using critical thinking and analysis skills and best practices

Person Specification:

Education & Qualifications

Essential - Proven work experience as a DevOps Engineer

Desirable - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential:

• Professional Technical Experience: 5+ Years

• Docker Experience: 1+ Years

• Kubernetes Experience: 2+ Years

• BE/BTech/MTech in ECE /Computer Science /EEE /IT or MCA.

• 2+ Years of experience in DevOps, CI/CD activities especially in Java based systems

• Experienced in DevOps Domain with work done in Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment, Release Automation and Management, Environment Management.

• Familiarity with maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Gitlab

• Familiarity in administering version control systems such as Git, etc. with understanding of branching/merging models in Git

• Exposure to Agile methodology and working with Agile development teams.

• Support and improve tooling for continuous build, automated testing and release management

Desirable:

• Linux Experience: 4+ Years

• Python, Shell, or Bash Scripting Experience: 2+ Years

• Good to have experience with AWS, Kubernetes, EKS, Docker.

• Good to have exposure to SAST and Security tools like SonarQube
