Job Description


The purpose of this role is to bridge the gap between wells operations teams, PSCM, Finance, and suppliers.

This role is accountable for supporting accurate time and cost forecasting and effective cost management during operations. This role is accountable for partnering with well engineering teams in the Business (region) and implementing a standardized procedure for capturing daily cost data for Drilling, Completions, Major Rig Workovers, and Well Service operations.

It is expected that this role provides wells teams with regular cost updates during operations, supports the creation and delivery of Purchase Orders and coordinates with PSCM to optimise contracts and price-books.

It is expected that this role enables teams to maintain a +/-5% threshold for daily cost tracking accuracy and minimise cost leakage via diligent oversight of invoice approval and deep technical understanding of applicable contracts.

Minimum 5+ years of experience in cost management related role.

Deliverables

Procurement and cost management support

Planning

Provide input to well AFE assumptions using historical data

PO Management

Coordinate wells Shopping Carts for engineering planning teams in accordance with both global and regional processes, including materials management

Manage shopping cart queries from other parties in bp

Manage invoice and PO queries from vendors

Manage PO uplift requests

Invoice Vetting and Management

Review and reconcile invoices submitted to SAP before approval and payment

o Ensure all SAP entries are accurately charged to the correct AFE

o Ensure correct coding is captured for all line items

o Verify that the good/services were received or completed as requested by bp and they have been invoiced correctly (e.g. work has been completed, right quantity received, correct price, correct cost centre).

Daily Cost Tracking

Manage daily cost tracking process during operations

Make daily cost adjustment recommendations in daily cost tracking tool

Provide operational teams with breakdown of daily costs to enable effective cost management

Daily Cost Management

Monitor and record equipment and personnel costs to reduce spend leakage

o Review field tickets and liaise with logistics teams to validate arrival/departure dates

o Eliminate excessive days on rent by verifying equipment sent in has been received by suppliers

Manage all retainer and standby charges for personnel per contracts

o Provide visibility to any excessive levels of backup equipment on location

Monitor spend against existing POs and flag requirement for PO uplifts

Coordinate with suppliers to align on NPT and other cost-related issues

Document root cause analysis (RCA) final outcomes in OpenWells and ensure credits are received as necessary

Follow up on discounts, fluid buybacks, and credits as necessary

Procurement:

Develop deep understanding of relevant contracts and pricebooks to minimise use of non-SORAC equipment and contract leakage.

Make PSCM aware of any off-contract requests and facilitate subsequent updates to contract or price-book.

Manage submission and effective close out of supplier non-conformance via ESQ2.

Manage completion of the supplier performance scorecard at the end of the well and support wells Senior Supplier Collaboration Lead during supplier reviews.

Operational support - time and cost performance tracking

Daily Time Management

Set up Openwells reporting at the start of a well

Verify Openwells operational coding during execute

Upload actual BHAs into Openwells and Wellplan

Perform an Openwells data quality check at end of well

Gather data from Openwells for the Rushmore submission

Manage daily time and cost performance tracker for operational wells teams

Weekly Reports

Produce weekly comparison of cost actuals vs. estimates

o Capture variance commentary for all product service lines

o Follow up with all action items that affect variances

Produce weekly summary of time actuals vs. estimates

o Capture variance commentary for ILT and NPT

Cost Transparency Meetings

Lead weekly meeting to report operational variance to engineering and management groups
