Key skills for the job
Provide survey expertise across offshore wind portfolio through the project life cycle, including
Project execution lead for individual survey work scopes, encompassing HSE, resourcing, permitting, budget, and data management.
Geo-data integrity assurance
Survey Subject Matter Expert to related disciplines e. g. T&I, Construction, Operations & Maintenance
Ensure safe, technical and commercial management of (off- and on-shore) geophysical, geotechnical and construction surveys from tendering through to execution.
Ensure accuracy and adequacy of deliverables.
Work within an integrated geoscience team to acquire and build fit for purpose integrated ground models for wind farm engineering (off- and on-shore).
Collaborate with, and coordinate safety, consent and procurement teams to ensure robust execution of works.
Collaborate with associated (i) environment & consent specialists, (ii) foundation and transmission engineering, and construction disciplines to safely deliver site investigations and project consent and infrastructure.
Maintain relationships with third party suppliers, contractors, and other partners, as part of leading long-term performance management, and pursuing continuous improvement.
Actively contribute to technology development and to the wider survey, geotechnical and geophysical communities of practice to share knowledge and findings.
Required Technical Experience
Excellent knowledge of industry codes and standards. Expertise in Project management of survey operations, including relevant procurement, HSSE, technical commercial, and schedule management. Expertise in off- and on-shore geotechnical, geophysical and environmental survey execution; including demonstrable offshore experience. Expertise in identification, assessment and management of survey acquisition risks. Expertise in spatial integrity of data associated with seismic, site and route survey, seabed and land assets and associated facilities, and associated data management. Experience in geotechnical and geophysical data acquisition, QC, processing, interpretation and reporting. Knowledge of Offshore Wind ground engineering activities related to design, analysis and installation for offshore wind infrastructure (e. g. turbines & transmission system). Knowledge of survey contractor market, technology developments, and the ability to identify and apply new technologies to improve survey delivery (technical, HSSE, operational, financial and environmental considerations).Required Professional Competencies / Soft Skills
Excellent proficiency in English (written and verbal), and interpersonal skill s both oral and written. Ability to manage time effectively, working with distributed teams and time-zones. Proven expertise of working in multi-disciplinary teams and major projects with minimal technical supervision. Strong, proven Stakeholder management, and collaboration. Comfortable reporting up to senior management .Required Education & Certification
Survey & mapping, or Geoscience degree About 10 years or more of relevant industry experience. Appropriate professional accreditation.
