Collibra Developer - with Java

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Collibra Developer with a strong background in Java to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data governance, Collibra administration, and release management. They will be proficient in all Collibra modules and have hands-on experience with Collibra REST and Java APIs. Additionally, the candidate should be adept at integrating Collibra with various data sources and platforms, including Snaplogic, Ariba, SAP, Salesforce, Oracle, AWS, and Databricks Unity Catalog. A solid understanding of data modeling, CI/CD processes, and Collibra Edge ingestion is also required.

Key Responsibilities:

Collibra Data Catalog Implementation:

• Manage Windows and Linux systems, including applications installation, network configuration, and Kubernetes administration (Collibra EDGE, Lineage Harvester, ERP/CRM integration for SAP, Springboot/Python integrations, etc. ).
• Implement Collibra Catalog using EDGE. ]
• Configure connections to source systems and efficient troubleshooting.
• Create, manage, and maintain technical lineage.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to enable connectivity for source systems connections and technical lineage into Data Catalog.
• Catalog source systems such as Snowflake, SAP, SAP Hana, Databricks/Unity Catalog, ServiceNow, Salesforce, Oracle, MS SQL, Teradata, Tableau, PowerBI, and others.

Workflow Development:

• Design and develop custom workflows using Java API, Groovy, and Flowable BPMN to streamline processes and automate workflows such as asset lifecycle management, data product/report certification, access management, data issue management, and guided stewardship processes.
• Support architectural discussions and execute customizations within the Collibra platform.
• Develop workflows in the new Workflow Designer and continuously improve existing and legacy workflows.

Collibra Module Implementation:

• Implement and understand modules such as Business Glossary, Data Lineage, Data Helpdesk, Reference Data, Master Data Management, Data Stewardship, Policy Manager, Assessments, Usage Analytics, History and Audit Log.
• Optional experience with Data Quality & Observability, Data Privacy, and Data Protect.

Integration Development (Nice to Have):

• Design and develop custom integrations using Java, Python, Springboot.
• Develop BI and reporting solutions using technologies such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, Python (Pandas), Spark.
• Prepare operational reports/KPI dashboards and automate reporting tools using Excel, Access, Tableau, Python, VBA, SAP BW, Business Objects.
• Develop integration tools using Collibra API for deployment and monitoring.

General Responsibilities:

• Maximize the use of out-of-box product capabilities for fastest results.
• Be self-driven, proactive, and a strong team player.
• Focus on enhancing end-user experience and ease of adoption.
• Participate actively in Agile practices including sprint planning, backlog refinement, solution design, retrospectives, and coordinating production releases.
• Support technical architecture discussions related to Collibra platform implementation.
• Build knowledgebase and internal documentation for user self-service capability.
• Participate in the release process, including progress reporting, version control, code reviews, QA testing, UAT support, deployment, dress rehearsals, and rollout coordination.
• Provide Data Governance engineering support, manage environments, and monitor platform performance.
• Resolve issues or bugs with Collibra vendor support and translate business challenges into Collibra concepts.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Collibra Developer, with a strong background in data governance and Collibra administration.
• Proficiency in Java programming and experience with Collibra REST and Java APIs.
• Hands-on experience with all Collibra modules, including Data Governance, Data Catalog, and Data Privacy.
• Experience with integrating Collibra with various data sources and platforms, such as Snaplogic, Ariba, SAP, Salesforce, Oracle, AWS, and Databricks Unity Catalog.
• Strong understanding of data modeling principles and best practices.
• Experience with CI/CD processes and tools, such as Jenkins, Git, and Docker.
• Knowledge of Collibra Edge ingestion processes and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Collibra certification(s) (Optional)
• Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud (Any one Mandatory)
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and practices.
