Job Description
- Incumbent needs to have a good understanding of product design to combine with process design expertise to provide for improved manufacturability of parts and major components.
- The basic responsibility of this position is to help in design, and development of fabricated products.
- The fabrication engineer should possess good knowledge in the joining process and should know how to sequence the weld to cover the design intent.
- He should have the knowledge of distortion of parts during welding operation, and have seen the different types of distortion with his experiences.
- He must have knowledge on different types of fixture used in the fabrication so that documentation of the process sequence will be appropriate for the workforce in the shop floor.
- He must able to document the process in the build book or standard work element sheet format or weld process format which is very useful for the workforce in the shop floor.
Work Experience
- This position requires thorough knowledge of fabrication process, gained acquisition of an appropriate technical or university degree combined with a minimum of 5 year of appropriate manufacturing experience or a minimum of 5 years as a Manufacturing Technician, or appropriate equivalent external experience.
- Excellent competency to read interpret engineering and manufacturing drawing, GDT symbols is required.
- Vital Value Based competencies requirement: Effective communication, Working Together Innovation.
- This position requires experience and expertise in various or specific fields of fabrication such as fabrication process planning and fabrication standard work instruction documentation, weld modelling using CAD tools etc.
- Candidate should be very fluent in the Creo software skills with minimum 3 to 4 years of experience is required.
- Excellent working knowledge on modeling detailing will be an added advantage.
