Job Overview :
As the Hardware Design Head at Quantum Pulse Technologies, you will play a critical role in leading the hardware engineering team in the design and development of next-generation electronic hardware solutions. You will manage the entire hardware design lifecycle, from concept creation to product delivery, ensuring all projects align with client expectations and high-quality standards.
You will also work closely with cross-functional teams, including embedded systems, PCB designers, and our RPO division, to ensure smooth hardware integration. This role demands a dynamic leader who is excited about working in a startup environment, driving innovation, and taking ownership of both small- and large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Lead Hardware Design and Development :
- Oversee the end-to-end design process, from initial concept development to final product realization.
- Create innovative, cost-effective, and high-performance hardware solutions that meet industry standards and customer needs.
2. Team Leadership :
- Lead and mentor a team of hardware engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative working environment.
- Collaborate with the embedded systems, PCB design, and RPO teams to ensure smooth hardware integration.
3. Project Management :
- Manage multiple hardware design projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Work closely with clients to understand their hardware requirements and exceed their expectations.
4. Product Testing and Validation:
- Oversee prototyping, testing, and validation processes to ensure product reliability and performance.
- Ensure all designs meet relevant compliance and regulatory standards (CE, FCC, UL, etc.).
5. Continuous Innovation:
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in hardware technology.
- Drive continuous improvement in hardware design processes and methodologies to maintain a competitive edge.
6. Supplier and Manufacturing Coordination:
- Coordinate with suppliers for sourcing components and oversee collaborations with manufacturing partners for prototypes and mass production.
7. Documentation and Compliance:
- Ensure thorough documentation of designs, schematics, and technical details.
- Lead efforts in obtaining necessary certifications and regulatory approvals.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Experience :
- 17+ years of hardware design experience with a proven ability to lead projects.
- Strong expertise in analog/digital circuit design, power electronics, and embedded systems.
- Experience managing and mentoring engineering teams.
Technical Proficiency :
- Expertise in PCB design, prototyping, and testing.
- Knowledge of hardware design software (e.g., Altium, OrCAD).
- Experience with microcontrollers, microprocessors, and FPGA-based designs.
- Leadership : Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and guide engineering teams.
- Problem-Solving : Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on detail-oriented design.
- Communication : Ability to effectively communicate with internal teams and external clients.
Preferred Skills :
- Experience working with global clients.
- Familiarity with industry standards (CE, FCC, UL).
- Previous experience in a startup environment is a plus.
- Understanding of RPO and its role in supporting hardware engineering teams.
