Senior Engineer - Storage Domain (7-12 yrs)

Job Description :

Notice Period : Immediate to 30 Days Only

Work location : Bangalore

Shift Timings : Afternoon & Evening Shifts (1PM to 10:30PM IST and 3:00PM to 12:30AM IST).

Education : 15 Years Regular Education(Mandatory)

- Resource must have Degree completion certificate & Consolidated marks sheet of Graduation)

- Candidate must have experience on the below pointers

Mandatory Skills : Pure Storage, EMC Isilon, SAN & NAS

Technical Skills :

- Provide proactive advice on scaling storage systems; when emergent issues arise, advise on possible storage workarounds and other options.

- Review risk assessment of the supplier and contracts on a regular basis

- Identifying capacity requirements through discussions with the business users/product managers/SDM

- Forecasting future capacity requirements based upon business plans, usage trends, sizing of new services, etc

- Proactive monitoring and administration

- Ability to communicate and present complex issues with assurance and confidence to the Client & Management.

- SAN Topologies and SAN components

- Ability to troubleshoot SAN, DAS and NAS problems without help.

- Ability to add / configure a storage box physically in SAN environment.

- Ability to carry out Root Cause Analysis and own Change Management.

- Ability to design and build SAN, DAS, NAS setup.

- Ensure storage is configured in a way that meets the business Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).

- Advanced Troubleshooting of SAN / NAS issues.

- Fabric switches

- Advance Troubleshooting skills.

- SAN Switch upgrades (one which newly introduced or have a bug fix).

- Perform fabric migrations, merging and isolation.

- Troubleshooting connectivity issues between servers, fabric switches and storage.

- Tools & Active Management

- Should be strong on storage-based replications like Snapshots, clones.

- Knowledge of best practices for optimum performance.

- Project capacity / performance trends and future needs

- Host integration and provisioning

- Knowledge of VSAN, name server and database.

- Execute zoning configuration as per the best practice.

- Sound knowledge of registering HBAs, masking, mapping, provisioning.

- Ability to handle escalation from OS teams

Functional Primary Skill :

- Configure local & Remote snapshots for Replication based on requests

- Routine Tasks like Handling LUN Provisioning/Decommissioning Requests

- Cloning- LUN, Volumes ,Igroup Creations

- Configuration - Zoning(Soft,Hard)/Unzoning/Rezoning

- Cluster Configuration, Failover/Failback Activities, Cluster Monitoring

- Host Multipath configuration and management

- Configure Autosize settings, Reallocation and De-duplication

- Storage Expansions/Consolidation/Optimization

- Virtual Interface group creations/deletion/modification

- Switch Configuration & Storage pool Creations

- Storage Reinstallation, Reconfiguration & Provisioning

- Physical Storage Management: Assigning and unassigning Disk Ownership

- Troubleshooting Switch connectivity, node connectivity, I/O flow and Load balancing between nodes
