About The Role:

This position reports to the MD and Head of Finance Procurement whose primary duty and responsibility lie in managing the Bangladesh subsidiary, with a particular emphasis on overseeing the finance and accounting function, ensuring that financial records are kept appropriately and that reported results comply with accounting standards and relevant legislation. As Finance Manager of Bangladesh, you ll be Bangladeshs second finance point of contact and will be expected to deputise the MD and Head of Finance Procurement to support Group Financial Controller/CFO on any group finance/accounting-related matters.

The position is based out of the Dhaka office, working closely with the local and international finance teams and the business s senior management.

Candidate profile: technical and experience requirements

• Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with solid technical skills and ability to partner with commercial and operational stakeholders in a fast-paced, growing SME international environment.
• Must be a self-starter, with an exemplary can-do, problem-solving attitude.
• Proven experience and track record in accounting / finance role with at least 5 years hands-on experience, preferably within a company in the service (BPO/IT) industry. Must have 1-2 years of experience in a managerial role within Finance/Accounting.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to analyze data for better decision-making.
• A team player with excellent communication skills who can work across all levels of the organization.
• Good knowledge of IFRS for SMEs, VAT and Income Tax (monthly VAT and Tax return and annual return).
• Exposure and good understanding of finance operations processes (R2R, O2C, P2P).
• Competent English language (written and spoken).
• Excel power-user.
• G-suite (Google Workspace) familiarity specially Google Sheets is a plus.
• Demonstrable experience in accounting software - SAP, NetSuite, etc. (Xero would be considered an advantage)

Would be great to have:

• Exposure of working with an international team and some foreign language skills.
• Experience in Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) or Enterprise IT services.

Main Responsibilities includes but not limited to:

• Streamline and oversee accounting functions finance operations in Bangladesh
• R2R - Record-to-Report (GL) - Oversee GL activities such as journal postings (for payroll/tax, deferrals/accruals), bank/credit card reconciliations, prepayments, fixed assets, etc.
• O2C - Order-to-Cash (AR) - Review invoice/billing and credit control processes, ensuring accurate cash receipt application and good AR Ageing
• P2P - Purchase-to-Pay (AP) - Approve vendor/supplier invoices and employee expenses, ensure PL codings are used correctly and that payments are processed timely
• Support our local Procurement and Corporate Governance team.
• Provide a high level of customer service within finance and to several business partners (i.e. Operations, HR, IT, Sales and Marketing, etc.)
• Manage monthly close process and perform Balance Sheet account reconciliations
• Review and delivery of monthly management accounts and forecast of assigned entities
• Support treasury function (forex payments and cash flow )
• Analyse financial data and assist in accounts flux analysis (inc. budget vs actual variances)
• Assist in the budgeting, profitability calculations, and variance analysis process
• Tax calculations, returns, payments and planning including various local taxes
• Involvement in transfer pricing between group companies, including monthly intercompany reconciliations
• Lead preparation of annual financial statements
• Support the annual audit preparation
• Assist in group finance functions
• Bangladesh payroll assistance (with direct contact with payroll providers)
• HR and admin support for the Dhaka office
• Local compliance and statutory reporting
• Support ad hoc tasks requested by the Group Financial Controller, CFO and senior management team
• Collaborate with the line manager to establish and communicate clear, measurable key performance indicators (KPIs) for subordinates, ensuring alignment with overall team and organizational objectives.
