Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the technological advancement and digital transformation efforts within our esteemed university. The CTO will play a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining cutting-edge technological infrastructure, including but not limited to ERP systems, cybersecurity protocols, cloud services, web portal, software licensing and other technological enhancements. Additionally, the CTO will be responsible for ensuring the timely upgrade of new technologies and providing comprehensive training programs to staff members to optimize the utilization of technology in their day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Technology Strategy and Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in online education, AI, and related fields. Develop and communicate a forward-thinking technology strategy aligned with the long-term vision and mission of Ganpat University. Drive innovation by exploring new opportunities for technology-enabled solutions and partnerships to enhance our competitive advantage.
  2. Establishment and Management of Systems: Oversee the implementation and management of robust ERP systems, LMS, HRMS systems, cybersecurity measures, cloud services, and other technological solutions necessary for the university's operations.
  3. Cybersecurity, Data Security & Compliance: Lead efforts to establish and maintain state-of-the-art cybersecurity measures to safeguard sensitive university data and systems from potential threats and breaches. Provide leadership on emerging technologies, trends, and risks in cybersecurity and data governance. Monitor and adapt to changes in global compliance requirements, ensuring the organization remains up-to-date.
  4. Technology Infrastructure Enhancement: Identify opportunities for technological enhancements within the existing university system, leveraging innovative solutions to improve efficiency, productivity, server management and user experience.
  5. Continuous Technological Upgradation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in higher education technology, and spearhead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new technologies to ensure the university remains at the forefront of innovation.
  6. Online Education Infrastructure Development: Lead the development and implementation of scalable, reliable, and secure online education platforms and systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and architecture for online learning solutions.
  7. AI Integration: Identify opportunities for leveraging AI technologies to enhance learning outcomes and streamline educational processes. Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for the integration of AI across various aspects of our online education platforms, including personalized learning, adaptive assessments, and virtual assistants.
  8. Team Leadership and Management: Build and lead a high-performing technology team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  9. LMS Development & Optimization: Oversee the deployment, customization, and integration of LMS platforms to meet faculty, student, and administrative needs. Ensure the LMS supports scalability, security, and advanced functionalities such as content management, assessment tools, analytics, and AI-driven personalization.
  10. Staff Training and Development: Develop and implement training programs to educate staff members on the effective use of technology tools and systems in their daily responsibilities, fostering a culture of technological proficiency and innovation.
  11. Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors, contractors, and technology partners to procure necessary technological solutions and services, ensuring alignment with the university's requirements and standards.
  12. Budgetary Oversight: Manage the technology budget effectively, ensuring that resources are allocated judiciously to support the university's technological needs while maintaining cost efficiency.

Qualification and Eligibility Criteria:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or in related field. Ph.D. degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience of 15-18 years in a relevant field and minimum of 10 years at senior leadership role overseeing technology functions within a complex organization, preferably in higher education or a similarly regulated environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of ERP systems, cybersecurity best practices, cloud computing, web portals, software licensing and other relevant technologies.
