Site Reliability Engineer

• Systems Administration Expertise: Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, managing and maintaining large-scale systems environments.
• Security Management: Deep expertise in managing security in AWS environments, specifically within a master payer account. Skilled in implementing security best practices using Security Groups, Network ACLs, IAM, and AWS security services such as AWS Shield, AWS Detective, AWS Security Hub, AWS WAF, etc.
• AWS Microservices and Kubernetes: Expertise in building, deploying, and maintaining microservices applications (e.g., MKS/Kafka) on AWS using Kubernetes and Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service).
• Command-Line Proficiency: Strong comfort level with performing and automating tasks using command-line tools.
• Automation and Scripting: Skilled in building tools and automation scripts for large-scale computing environments, including Bash and Python scripts.
• Documentation and Communication: Adept at creating and maintaining detailed network and systems diagrams, as well as technical documentation. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Organized and Adaptive: Highly organized with excellent time management and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Comfortable working in dynamic environments with shifting priorities.
• Database Administration: Experience with database management, including SQL, MariaDB/MySQL, Amazon RDS, and Aurora, is a plus.
• CI/CD Expertise: Experience with automating CI/CD pipelines using AWS services like CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy. Familiarity with Jenkins, Ansible, and other CI/CD tools is also valuable.
• Version Control and Collaboration: Experience with Git (GitHub, GitLab), including managing code repositories, conducting code reviews, and handling issue tracking. Preference for experience with GitLab.

• AWS Environment Expertise: 4+ years of experience working in AWS environments, deploying and maintaining multi-account AWS infrastructures.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficient in deploying and managing infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation, StackSets, and CDK. Familiarity with Terraform is also a plus.
• Monitoring and Auditing: Experience with monitoring and auditing AWS services using CloudWatch, GuardDuty, AWS Cost Explorer, and Systems Manager.
• AWS Networking: Deep knowledge of AWS networking services, including VPC, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink, subnets, security groups, load balancers, and route tables.
• AWS Storage Solutions: Experience designing, deploying, and managing AWS storage services such as S3, EBS, and EFS.
• AWS Lambda: Expertise in developing, deploying, and managing AWS Lambda functions.
• AWS WAF: Experience configuring, managing, and monitoring AWS WAF (Web Application Firewall), including AWS-managed and custom rules.

• System Administration: 3+ years of experience in administering Enterprise Linux systems (RHEL, Ubuntu, Amazon Linux/CentOS).
• Troubleshooting and Scripting: Comfortable troubleshooting complex systems and writing scripts (Bash, Python) to automate tasks and resolve issues efficiently.

• Security-First Mindset: Proven track record of implementing security best practices, focusing on identity and access management, network security, and application security within cloud environments.
• Cloud-Native Application Deployment: Hands-on experience with deploying cloud-native applications, container orchestration using Kubernetes, and managing microservices on AWS.
• System Optimization and Automation: Focused on optimizing system performance, automating operations, and scaling cloud infrastructure to meet business requirements.
• Collaboration & Documentation: Strong ability to collaborate across teams, document systems, and communicate technical solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
