Job Description

The Automation and Functional Test Manager with Consulting Experience is responsible for leading both functional and automation testing efforts across various projects while providing expert consulting services to clients
This role demands a comprehensive understanding of both manual and automated testing methodologies, coupled with the ability to translate client needs into effective test strategies
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, consulting experience, and a passion for ensuring the highest quality software delivery

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of both functional and automation test engineers.
- Develop and implement comprehensive testing strategies that encompass both manual and automated testing.
- Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills and tools to deliver high-quality testing services.
Consulting Client Engagement:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and testing requirements.
- Provide expert guidance on both functional and automation testing strategies, ensuring alignment with client objectives.
- Conduct assessments of clients current testing processes and recommend improvements.
- Prepare and deliver client presentations, reports, and proposals that demonstrate the value of your testing services.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships.
Automation Testing:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automation testing frameworks and scripts.
- Integrate automation testing into the overall software development lifecycle, including CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure test automation coverage is comprehensive and effective, reducing the need for repetitive manual testing.
- Collaborate with development teams to identify automation opportunities and implement solutions.
Functional Testing:
- Oversee and manage the planning, design, and execution of functional test cases.
- Ensure that functional testing is thorough and aligned with business requirements.
- Identify and document defects, working closely with development teams to resolve issues.
- Coordinate and manage user acceptance testing (UAT) with stakeholders.
Project Management:
- Manage multiple testing projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and product managers, to ensure project success.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in both functional and automation testing.
- Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Advocate for the adoption of new testing tools and technologies across the organization.
Reporting Metrics:
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for both functional and automation testing efforts.
- Provide regular reports to senior management and clients on testing progress, risks, and outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
10-12 years of experience in software testing, with at least 5 years in automation testing.
Proven experience in a leadership or management role within a testing or QA environment.
Strong consulting experience, including client engagement, requirements gathering, and solution delivery.
Expertise in automation testing tools and frameworks such as Tosca and Selenium.
Experience with manual testing methodologies, test case design, and execution.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, ADO etc.
Solid understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
