Store Keeper

Job Summary:

The Store Keeper is responsible for managing and overseeing the storage, organization, and issuance of materials, tools, and equipment required for the construction site. The role involves ensuring accurate inventory management, timely stock replenishment, and maintaining a safe and organized storage area.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inventory Management:
   
• Maintain a well-organized and efficient storage system for construction materials and tools.
• Track stock levels and ensure materials are ordered in time to avoid shortages.
• Perform regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy of records.
2. Issuance of Materials:
   
• Issue materials and tools to construction workers as per their requirements.
• Record and monitor all material issued, ensuring proper documentation and signatures for accountability.
3. Stock Replenishment:
   
• Coordinate with procurement or purchasing department for timely ordering of materials based on project requirements.
• Ensure that materials and equipment are stored in safe, accessible conditions to prevent damage.
4. Quality Control:
   
• Check incoming materials for quality and ensure that they meet project specifications.
• Handle damaged or defective materials in accordance with company policy.
5. Safety and Compliance:
   
• Maintain a safe and clean storage environment.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations related to storage, handling, and transportation of materials.
• Report any hazards or safety concerns to the site manager.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
   
• Keep accurate records of inventory levels, material requisitions, and equipment usage.
• Prepare daily, weekly, or monthly reports on stock levels and material consumption.
7. Coordination and Communication:
   
• Coordinate with the construction team, suppliers, and site management to ensure smooth operation of material handling.
• Communicate effectively regarding inventory status and material needs.
8. Tool and Equipment Management:
   
• Ensure that all tools and equipment are maintained and in good working order.
• Perform basic repairs on tools when necessary, and ensure that broken or damaged items are reported.
