Job Description
- The Supervisor of Product Manufacturing Development (PMD) is responsible for overseeing the product manufacturing development process, ensuring product quality and performance meet company standards and customer expectations.
- This role involves supervising a team of PMD technicians and engineers, coordinating resources, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve processes, optimize production efficiency, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements - Team Supervision and Development
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of PMD technicians and engineers.
- Provide training, development, and performance feedback to ensure team effectiveness.
- Coordinate work schedules and allocate resources based on project requirements.
- Process and Product Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements.
- Implement best practices to reduce waste, improve productivity, and ensure product consistency.
- Work closely with the quality assurance and production teams to resolve any issues impacting product quality.
- Production Support and Troubleshooting
- Oversee troubleshooting of manufacturing issues to minimize downtime and ensure production targets are met.
- Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve production problems.
- Ensure timely maintenance and calibration of production equipment to uphold manufacturing standards.
- Project Management
- Collaborate with the engineering and RD teams to introduce new products and processes into production.
- Plan and execute projects related to process development, improvement, and automation.
- Track and report on project status, milestones, and deliverables to senior management.
- Documentation and Compliance
- Ensure all PMD activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for production processes, work instructions, and quality controls.
- Conduct regular audits and ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with procurement, production, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to streamline operations.
- Act as a liaison between PMD and other departments to align objectives and support operational goals.
- Provide technical support and expertise for product and process improvements.
