Project Manager (6-7 yrs)

Job Title : Project Manager - ICT Accessibility Initiatives

Location : Onsite - Delhi

Position Summary :

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to lead ICT accessibility projects, focusing on standardization, capacity building, and testing. The ideal candidate will have 6-7 years of project management experience, a deep understanding of ICT accessibility standards, and a commitment to improving equitable access to technology for persons with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Standardization and Compliance :

- Develop and harmonize Indian ICT Accessibility Standards (IS17802).

- Draft guidelines for implementing IS17802 for priority ICTs in collaboration with Standards Developing Organizations (SDOs) and relevant ministries.

2. Project Management Unit (PMU) :

- Establish and manage the KAI IS17802 PMU at MeitY.

- Support government-led accessibility initiatives and foster an accessibility ecosystem for stakeholders and service providers.

3. Capacity Building :

- Plan and execute nationwide awareness campaigns and training programs to promote accessibility.

- Organize workshops, forums, and events for capacity building and accessibility education.

4. Testing and Certification :

- Conduct testing and certification of ICT components to ensure compliance with accessibility standards.

- Facilitate the development and implementation of accessibility audits and certification ecosystems.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills :

Education :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience :

1. 6-7 years in project management, preferably in ICT or accessibility-related domains.

Technical Expertise :

1. Strong understanding of accessibility standards (e.g., IS17802 or equivalent).

2. Knowledge of ICT accessibility tools and testing frameworks.

Leadership Skills :

1. Proven ability to coordinate with government organizations, ministries, and external stakeholders.

2. Strong organizational and leadership capabilities.

Communication :

1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with diverse audiences effectively.
