Job Description

The Project Control Engineer/Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing project control activities for Oil & Gas and energy projects, including EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects and proposals. This role involves planning, monitoring, and controlling project performance to ensure successful project execution within scope, schedule, and budget. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing proposal schedules using Primavera P6, preparing planning packages, preparing and managing various control indices (DCI, MCI, CCI).

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and Implement Control Procedures:
- Create and enforce project control procedures and progress measurement methodologies in collaboration with project management, engineering management, construction management, and supply chain management teams.
Schedule Development and Management:
- Develop, implement, and maintain detailed L3/L4 schedules using industry-standard scheduling tools like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Prepare comprehensive EPC schedules, including pre-commissioning and commissioning phases.
Functional Scheduling:
- Develop, implement, and maintain functional schedules such as DCI (Document Control Index), MCI (Material Control Index), and CCI (Construction Control Index) in collaboration with execution teams.
Progress Monitoring and Control:
- Monitor project progress against the established schedule and identify potential delays.
- Implement schedule control measures to mitigate risks and ensure timely project delivery.
Baseline Establishment:
- Establish project baselines for scope, schedule, and budget.
Cost Management:
- Monitor and control project costs, including budget development, cost forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Implement cost control measures to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
Financial Performance Tracking:
- Track and report on project financial performance, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess project risks and uncertainties.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
- Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Reporting:
- Prepare and deliver weekly progress reports (WPR) and monthly progress reports (MPR) highlighting project status, issues, and risks for management, and stakeholders.
Collaboration and Data Gathering:
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to gather project data and ensure accurate reporting.
Procurement and Finance Integration:
- Work closely with procurement and finance teams to integrate project control activities with overall project management.
Proposal Schedule Preparation:
- Assist in the preparation of proposal schedules using Primavera P6 for new projects, ensuring comprehensive and realistic timelines.
