Job Description

As an Embedded Software Development Engineer-II at Probus Smart Things Pvt. Ltd., you will be an integral part of a dynamic team responsible for developing and maintaining embedded software solutions. You will work on the entire product lifecycle, from enabling hardware to function as per design parameters to debugging and testing communication protocols, algorithms, and sensor integration. Your contributions will be critical in making products ready for production and ensuring their seamless operation in real-world environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain firmware for embedded systems with a focus on data structures, communication protocols, and sensor integration.
• Work on circuits, processors, controllers, sensors, and algorithms, enabling them to work according to the designed parameters.
• Utilize IDEs such as STM32, Eclipse, and KEIL for embedded firmware development.
• Collaborate effectively using version control systems (VCS) such as Git and SVN.
• Work with embedded Linux environments to ensure optimal integration and functionality.
• Optionally contribute to projects involving Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and bare-metal programming.
• Use Python and shell scripting for automation and scripting tasks (optional).
• Test and debug communication protocols, including MQTT, DLMS, MODBUS, RS232/485, IEC104/850, and CAN.
• Contribute to integration and troubleshooting of wireless communication protocols like BLE5.0 and WiFi.
• Ensure seamless integration of software with hardware for efficient performance and product reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product improvements and meet client outcomes.

Required Skills:

• Experience: 6-8 years in embedded software development.
• Core Skills: Strong proficiency in Embedded C and Embedded Linux. Python and shell scripting (optional). Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
• Communication Protocols: Extensive knowledge of MQTT, DLMS, MODBUS, RS232/485, IEC104/850, and CAN. Experience working with BLE5.0 and WiFi protocols.
• Hardware Experience: Hands-on experience with ARM application processors.
• Additional Skills (Optional): AWS Stack knowledge is a plus. Experience with metering and energy products is highly desirable. Familiarity with RTOS and bare-metal programming.
