Role Overview:

• Work within an agile team of embedded software engineers to deliver high quality hardware products that work seamlessly with Epturas enterprise software products.
• Work with the Product Manager and engineering team to define deliveries and work within schedule.
• Design, implement, and provide engineering assistance across a range of platform technologies, protocols and languages.
• Work with the Quality Assurance team to ensure that the software is fully unit tested, can be performance-tested, and passes the companies quality requirements.
• Work with the Engineering Department's processes and tools ensuring best practices are adhered to on every project.
• Regularly participate in development meetings, and occasionally participate in department meetings.
• Willing to travel

What will make you successful:

• Worked at a senior embedded software engineer level in a commercial product company delivering a range of tablet or sensor related products for 5-12 years.
• Delivered Android and embedded Linux projects, customising the source to deliver changes in the underlying OS including integration of new hardware and exposing its functionality.
• Experience in interaction with H/W drivers (networking, RFID etc…), platform libraries, application framework.
• Strong knowledge of C.
• Experience and conceptual understanding of building OS and packaging methods
• Consuming the security patches in source code.
• Build delivery system.
• Experience in customising OS for porting into new H/W, HAL.
• Solid knowledge of software engineering concepts, preferably with experience in Agile methodologies, and some experience in traditional Waterfall methodologies (i.e., version control systems, peer coding, code reviews, unit testing, continuous integration, release management, etc.).
• Excellent knowledge of testing and quality assurance.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
