Job Description
As an Associate Director in Primary Market Research, you will take a leadership role in setting up and managing a quantitative data processing team. You will support the delivery of all data processing requirements for global market research studies. You will manage multiple projects and work according to agreed deadlines with a high degree of data accuracy.
Examples of Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of data processing requirements for complex global market research projects, overseeing the programming, data management, data cleaning, coding and processing of complex datasets
- Coordinate projects , collaborating with research teams to understand project requirements and designing data processing plans while tracking project timelines and ensuring deliverables meet quality standards within the established schedule
- Design and script online surveys and evaluate and recommend software tools and platforms to ensure accuracy and usability of data and improve data processing capabilities
- Manage and perform data tabulation and validation processes, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of data
- Conduct rigorous checks on data and survey processes to meet internal and external quality standards and ensure all processes comply with organisational and regulatory standards
- Develop and apply coding frameworks for open-ended responses and data analysis
- Lead the development of this internal data processing function, creating processes and best practices for efficiency and scalability
- Supervise and mentor a team of data processors, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
- Provide training and guidance on tool technologies and best practices in data processing to enhance team skills and performance
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Other Skills
The following outlines the minimum hiring criteria for this position unless otherwise stipulated below as preferred or a plus .
Undergraduate or advanced degree with more than five years of experience in quantitative primary market research, data analytics or consulting
Proven expertise in data collection techniques, with a strong grasp of market research methodology and proficiency with data processing tools and languages (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R, Python, SQL)
Understanding of how to perform primary market research and how to access and appropriately use secondary market research
Familiarity with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
Experience working with international teams or on global market research projects
Sound knowledge of survey tools and platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey) is a plus
Experience managing teams of researchers or analysts and providing mentorship and strategic guidance
Demonstrable quality-oriented mindset and approach, with a high level of atte ntion to detail
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills , including the ability to present complex technical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Demonstrated project management, time management and organisational abilities to effectively support projects, ensuring they are completed on time, remain within budget and result in high-quality deliverables
- Strong business acumen with the ability to understand client needs and develop research solutions that drive business outcomes
Consistent track record of meeting or exceeding assigned goals and objectives
