About the Opportunity

We are seeking a talented and experienced Lead Data Scientist to join our AI team. As the Data Scientist Lead, you will be responsible for leading and managing our data science initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven decision making and innovation. You will play a key role in developing and implementing advanced analytical models and algorithms to extract insights from complex datasets and drive business growth and optimisation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of statistical modelling, data mining and machine learning techniques, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of data scientists and AI engineers, providing guidance, mentorship and support to drive performance and professional growth
• Collaborate with stakeholders across various departments to identify business challenges and opportunities where data science can add value
• Participate in conceptualising, designing and developing AI/ML-based solutions in the life science domain using predictive analytics, NLP and computer vision
• Design, develop and deploy advanced analytical models and algorithms to solve complex business problems and optimise processes
• Conduct exploratory data analysis, feature engineering and data preprocessing to prepare datasets for modelling
• Use machine learning, statistical modelling and other advanced analytical techniques to extract actionable insights and make predictions
• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure for data collection, storage and processing
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, machine learning and AI technologies, and evaluate their potential applications to enhance our products and services
• Communicate findings and insights effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders through presentations, reports and visualisations
• Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations and best practices in all data science projects and initiatives

Required Experience and Qualifications:

As an ideal candidate, you will have:

• Bachelor's or masters degree in computer science, statistics or a related field
• 6+ years of experience in data science, machine learning or related fields, with a track record of delivering impactful data-driven solutions
• Hands on experience in model building, validation and productionising
• Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms and techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, LLM, NLP and computer vision
• Experience with big data technologies and platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, SQL) for scalable data processing and analysis
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R and Java
• Experience with cloud-based data storage and computing platforms such as AWS, Azure and Google Cloud
• Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras and PyTorch
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and project management tools such as Jira
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Knowledge of healthcare or the pharmaceutical industry is a plus
