Director - Data Science (10-12 yrs)

Role Description :

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Data Science to lead and drive innovative data science initiatives. The role requires a hands-on approach to managing teams, executing data-driven strategies, and leveraging advanced technologies like Generative AI (Gen AI), Machine Learning (ML), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Deep Learning.

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's data science strategy, delivering actionable insights, and fostering a data-driven culture.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and execute the organization's data science strategy aligned with business goals.

- Lead cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex business challenges through data science techniques.

- Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in data science, ML, and AI, integrating them into strategic initiatives.

- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of data science projects, from ideation to deployment and evaluation.

- Implement and maintain statistical models and predictive analytics to drive decision-making.

- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality, impactful data science solutions.

- Build and manage a team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.

- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, enabling professional growth and skill development.

- Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to identify opportunities for data-driven improvements.

- Leverage expertise in Generative AI, ML, NLP, Python, and Deep Learning to address business needs.

- Perform exploratory data analysis, identify patterns, and deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.

- Develop and optimize algorithms and statistical models for large-scale data processing.

- Communicate complex data findings effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

- Partner with business leaders to integrate data-driven insights into decision-making processes.

- Represent the organization in client discussions, industry conferences, and strategic meetings.

Required Skills and Competencies :

- Proficiency in Gen AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and NLP. Advanced programming skills in Python and familiarity with data science libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).

- Expertise in statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

- Solid knowledge of data analytics and data engineering pipelines.

- Proven ability to lead large-scale data science projects and cross-functional teams.

- Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail.

- Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

- Strategic mindset with the ability to prioritize and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications :

- Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.

- 10 to 12 years of experience in data science or related roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.

- Experience in the IT consulting or services industry is highly desirable.
