Toolroom Engineer

Position Overview: The Tool Room Engineer for New Product Development in a Gravity Die Casting (GDC) Aluminium foundry .

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tool Design and Development:
   • Create detailed designs for tools, dies, and fixtures used in the casting process.
   • Utilize CAD software to develop 3D models and 2D drawings.
2. Sample Development / Die Development :
   • Oversee the Die development and prototypes and Production tools of Aluminium GDC / LPDC parts .
   • Conduct trials and analyze results to refine tool designs and manufacturing processes.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
   • Work closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to align on new product specifications and requirements.
   • Provide technical support and guidance during the product development phase.
4. Process Optimization:
   • Identify and implement improvements in tooling processes to enhance production efficiency and reduce costs.
   • Regularly review and update tooling standards based on project needs and industry best practices.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
   • Maintain accurate records of tool designs, modifications, and production trials.
   • Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool room or a related field.
• Proven experience in tool design and development within a foundry or casting environment, preferably Aluminium GDC.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for tool design and modeling.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of metallurgy and aluminium properties.
• Familiarity with VMC & CNC machining and machining processes.
• Experience with project management and product lifecycle management (PLM) tools.
