Role & responsibilities
1. Conduct inspections and tests on bottles and caps throughout the manufacturing process, including raw material checks, in-process inspections, and final product examinations.
2. Ensure that all plastic packaging products meet designated quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
3. Utilize various equipment, such as gauges, calipers, micrometers, leak tester, top load tester, torque tester, ESCR and other functionality tests
4. Perform comprehensive visual inspections to identify defects, surface imperfections, color variations, and other quality issues.
5. Document and accurately record inspection results, non-conformances, and any corrective actions taken in designated quality records or databases.
6. Collaborate with the production team to identify root causes of quality issues and recommend corrective and preventive actions to improve product quality and manufacturing processes.
7. Monitor and ensure adherence to approved quality control procedures, work instructions, and quality specifications.
8. Participate in internal and external audits of the quality management system, providing necessary documentation and information.
9. Support the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives, including process optimization and continuous improvement activities.
10. Conduct regular inspections of measuring and testing equipment to ensure accuracy and calibration.
11. Stay updated with industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to plastic packaging quality.
Preferred candidate profile
1. Graduation; prefereably CPET, B.TEch. Additional technical certifications or training in quality control or plastic manufacturing is a plus.
2. Proven experience as a quality inspector in the plastic packaging industry, particularly with rigid plastic products for pharmaceutical and food applications.
3. In-depth knowledge of quality control techniques, inspection methodologies, and relevant regulations (e.g. ISO, GMP).
4. Familiarity with plastic manufacturing processes, including injection molding, blow molding, and quality requirements for plastic packaging.
5. Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment, such as gauges, calipers, micrometers, vision systems, and other measuring instruments.
6. Excellent attention to detail, visual acuity, and ability to identify defects in appearance and functionality.
7. Good documentation and record-keeping abilities to accurately report inspection results and maintain quality records.
8. Effective communication skills to collaborate with production teams, communicate quality requirements, and provide feedback on quality performance.
9. Proactive mindset, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
10. Flexibility to work in a multidisciplinary team environment and adapt to changing priorities and production demands.
