Prama Hikvision - CommVault Administrator - Backup & Recovery Operations (4-6 yrs)

Job Description :

Key Responsibilities :

Backup and Recovery Operations :

- Configure, monitor, and manage Commvault backup jobs for systems, applications, and endpoints.

- Perform data restoration tasks, including file-level, application-specific (SQL, Oracle, SAP), and full system restores.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization :

- Continuously monitor the performance of systems and services and implement measures to optimize backup and restore processes.

- Maintain compliance with SLAs by ensuring timely completion and accuracy of backups.

Troubleshooting and Support :

- Diagnose and resolve backup-related issues, working with internal teams and escalating to Commvault support when necessary.

- Proactively identify system bottlenecks and address them effectively.

Installation and Maintenance :

- Assist in the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of the Commvault environment.

- Implement upgrades and patches to ensure system stability and security.

Disaster Recovery and Replication :

- Develop and maintain disaster recovery strategies using Commvault's DR and replication features.

- Conduct regular DR testing and documentation to ensure readiness.

Reporting and Documentation :

- Generate and analyze backup/restore reports for insights and improvements.

- Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting guides for the backup environment.

Technical Skills and Qualifications :

Core Expertise :

- Strong understanding of Commvault Backup and Recovery concepts.

- Experience managing and troubleshooting backup systems in complex environments.

- Hands-on experience with backup and restore operations for diverse systems, including : Laptop Clients, UNIX/Linux Systems, Exchange, VM, Endpoint, SQL, Oracle, SAP.

Storage Knowledge :

- Familiarity with storage technologies, protocols, and designs.

- Knowledge of deduplication, retention, and storage policies in Commvault.

Disaster Recovery :

- Solid understanding of DR planning, implementation, and testing.

- Expertise in Commvault replication and DR configurations.

Problem Solving :

- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues.

- Experience logging and managing incidents with Commvault vendor support.

Additional Technical Skills (Good to Have) :

- Understanding of storage hardware and software solutions.

- Experience with hybrid cloud environments and integrating cloud backup solutions.

Soft Skills :

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.

- Strong communication skills for coordination with teams and vendors.
