Desktop Support Technician

• Set up equipment for employee use, ensuring accurate installation of cables, operating systems, or software.
• Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment.
• Conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems.
• Determine necessary computer software or hardware to set up or alter systems.
• Respond to and diagnose problems through discussion with clients.
• Design and conduct hardware or software tests.
• Assist in inventory control and asset management.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience in a relevant field.

• Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to at least 4 years).

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, PC hardware, and desktop application products.
• The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues on a desktop platform.
• Strong customer service communication skills.
• Must be able to multitask and pay close attention to detail.

• Ability to access and use various computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.
• Ability to communicate information and ideas effectively, with strong listening skills.
• Interaction with diverse groups, gathering and relating sensitive information.
• Perform a wide range of variable tasks with little predictability. Must perform under stress and multitask.
• Regular and consistent attendance is required.
