Promo Writer - English

Persona: Short specialization, and tabloid writer/promo producer

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

- 3-5 years of experience in creative writing, scriptwriting, or short format storytelling, skilled in writing high retention fiction content

- Specialisation in short for content writing, preferred tabloid writer

- Proficiency in English, with experience in writing english content (understanding of US audience is an added advantage)

- Ability to craft engaging, emotionally resonant stories with clear hooks, pacing, and cliffhangers that retain attention over extended time frames.

- Experience working in a data-driven environment, with a focus on performance metrics such as completion rates, CTR, and audience retention.

- Familiarity with writing for digital platforms and an understanding of how to optimize content for target audiences.

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with creative, marketing, and analytics teams to iterate and refine content.

- Ability to stay up-to-date with current trends in social media, entertainment, and pop culture, and incorporate these elements into engaging stories.

- Experience in writing different versions of scripts for iterative testing and a willingness to revise content based on feedback and performance data.

Role and Responsibilites:

- Writing high retention short scripts / variations of existing scripts on a day-to-day basis (1-2k words script or 30sec to 1 min video)

- Ideating and exploring different angles to narrate different variations of the same show to maximize reach and engagement

- Delivering a consistent number of high-performing script variations to meet performance marketing targets on a monthly basis

- Collaborate with data and performance teams to A/B test different script versions. Adapt and revise scripts based on performance data (e.g., completion rates, CTR) to optimize engagement and conversions.

- Work closely with producers, video editors, and the marketing team to ensure the seamless execution of your scripts into high-performing content.

- Write with an understanding of platform-specific content dynamics to ensure your scripts are tailored for success.
