General Manager Commercial

Key Responsibilities.

The General Manager Commercial shall be responsible to the CEO for:

• Developing and maintaining close relationships with Corporate Clients and Contract Charterers
• Developing and maintaining close relationships with Travel Agents and other distribution service providers
• Recognizing safety as a core value in all decision making in the delivery of charter Schedule/RPT and Cargo services
• Putting the safety management plan into effect as it applies to the activities conducted within the Commercial Division
• Taking accountability for identifying causal factors behind failures, determining and implementing corrective and preventative action and controlling risk within the division
• Initiating the change management and risk assessment processes as required to respond to issues arising in the division
• Ensuring all staff within the division take personal responsibility for safety
• Fostering a positive safety culture in the department, and by personal example, demonstrating a commitment to the safety management system
• The overall direction of the division and efficient use of resources, including setting KPIs
• Managing the financial budget for the division
• Keeping abreast of industry and competitor developments to maximize potential for new business opportunities
• Maintaining an adequate number of qualified personnel for the efficient delivery of Charter, Schedule/RPT and Cargo services

Qualification, Skills, Competencies.

Our Ideal Candidate should;

• Displays a strong understanding of the PNG aviation industry and the PNG market.
• Strong management skills and the ability to promote a proactive, effective, efficient and change ready organization.
• Commercial airline management experience having knowledge of and having worked in the areas of Revenue Management, Pricing Distribution, Network Management, Marketing and Sales.
• A broad understanding of the global commercial airline landscape and how a regional airline can commercially benefit from being a part of this network.
• Detailed knowledge of product distribution, passenger service systems, IATA standards, and e-commerce.
• Ability to negotiate and implement interline and codeshare relationships for both passenger and cargo businesses.
